FEBRUARY

Gumbo Cookoff - Held at the Destin Community Center. Restaurants and individuals compete for the area's best gumbo


MARCH

Harbor Docks Cobia World Championships - March 15 through May 15.

Spring Splash - March through May. Many activities and entertainment to choose from including: kite flying, billiards, beach bowling, frisbee golf, velcro baseball, parasailing, etc.


APRIL

Fisherman's Wharf Annual Cobia Tournament - Held the entire month of April and into the 1st week in May. Held at Destin Fishing Fleet Marina. Anglers compete for cash prizes and trophies. The largest Cobia in the world was caught in Destin.

Fort Walton Beach Seafood Festival - Hugh assortment of seafood as well as entertainment including a vintage car show, arts & crafts, and 60's rock and roll.

Eglin Air Show - Aerial acrobatics performed by the famed Thunderbirds; flightline displays of military might and simulated dogfights.

Fudpucker's 4-Player Beach Volleyball Tournament - Over 35 courts will be set up along almost a half mile of beach in Destin. Winning teams in each division will get a share of more than $10,000 in cash and prizes.


MAY

Destin Mayfest - A genuine Louisiana celebration complete with Cajun food, crafts and jazz.

Fisherman's Wharf Annual King Mackerel Classic - Memorial Day Weekend thru July 4. Held at Destin Fishing Fleet Marina, locals & vacationers alike compete for money prizes and trophies.

4-Player Volleyball Tournament - One of the top five beach volleyball tournaments in the U.S. More than 550 players participate twice a year.


JUNE

Billy Bowlegs Festival - a week-long buccaneer bash, complete with pirates, treasure hunts, parades and fireworks.

AJ's Summer Slam Softball Tournament - Benefits Special Olympics.


JULY

Annual Fourth of July Celebrations

Destin-Fort Walton Beach Sportfish Tournament - This 23 year-old tournament is held at Destin Fishing Fleet Marina and yields over $150,000 in cash prizes. Sponsored by the Fort Walton Beach Sailfish Club.

AJ's Emerald Sprint Triathalon - Benefits local schools.


AUGUST

Dog Days Open Billfish Tournament - Game fish buffs compete in the "Billfishing Capital of the Gulf" for a $30,000 purse.


SEPTEMBER

Spearfishing Competition - Divers with spear guns welcome.

AJ's King Mackerel Classic- Benefits Okaloosa County Artificial Reef Program.

AJ's Luau & Pig Roast


OCTOBER

Okaloosa County Fair - The annual fair promises rides, attractions, exhibitions and entertainment.

Destin Fishing Rodeo - This 50 year tradition of the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village" attracts over 30,000 anglers for a month-long fishing frenzy. Held at Destin Fishing Fleet Marina.

Invitational Classic Golf Tournament - Bluewater Bay Resort selects 150-200 international guests to compete in the tournament.

Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival - Eleven tons of mullet are devoured, while pageants, entertainment and other festivities abound.

AJ's Pick-n-Putt Golf Classic - Benefits Harvest House & Toys for Tots.


DECEMBER

Christmas Boat Parade - A procession of festively-bedecked boats parade through Destin Harbor.
